Animal farm was a satire on communism but it was also a prediction of Guyana under Burnham with Forbes being old Boxer , Squealer being the New Nation news paper . Police and soljah being the dogs

Whist 'Animal Farm' was indeed a brilliant satire on rise of both Communism and Fascism during the first part of the 20th century, it now serves an equally brilliant satire on Western Capitalism and Democracy. Especially now with the rise of the all powerful lobbyist.

Yes. Marx did accurately predict the cycles of recession/depression and prosperity of a capitalist run economy.
What he didn't predict was the rise of trade unions to mitigate the exploitation and alienation of the working masses. As a result of this mitigation the workers never did rise up to overthrow their bourgeois capitalist masters who owned and controlled the means of production. They simply became the middle class who had just enough to feel they were living the American dream and could one day become the exploiters themselves.
