Most parts of the state shivered due to the inclement weather on Wednesday.
The minimum temperature in the state capital went down to 3.7 degrees Celsius Tuesday night. The weatherman said it will be very cold in the coming days.
Snowfall in many parts of neighbouring Uttarakhand added to the winter chill.
The lowest temperature Tuesday was in Churk in Sonbhadra district where the mercury dipped to 1.8 degrees Celsius.
Officials said at least 21 people have died in the state since Tuesday. The casualties were reported from Ghazipur, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Etah, Bhadohi, Baghpat and Ballia.
Arrangements have been made for temporary shelters and bonfires for the homeless, the officials added.

I don't understand celsius, but only Fahrenheit.
And 3.7 celsius is 38 degrees in Fahrenheit.
That's not cold enough to kill people, so I don't understand the claim of this report.

It would be 38 degrees and a lovely brisk day.
Now in actual 3.7 degrees Fahrenheit, it would be pretty cold, and peeps would be snuggled up indoors.

people must be hungry and malnourished and cant adjust to temperature fluctuations. 38 degrees is nutten fuh we here in canada..indeed very pleasant. Trinidadians would do better than Uttar Pradesh because the people better off physically I think, would adjust better. I sooprise dat more ent dead in fact

They might have been homeless and had inadequate clothing too. I suppose that 38 degrees could kill you if you're living outdoors and not not warmly dressed. Though homeless people usually starts a fire in a garbage can to keep themselves warm.
