Prime Minister Hinds' statement reads:

I extend heartiest congratulations to Ms. Elisabeth Harper, Director-General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - DG, as she is familiarly known - on the announcement of her selection as Prime Ministerial candidate for the People's Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) in the up-coming national and regional elections, on May 11, 2015.


DG is a Guyanese of exceptional national commitment who, I am confident, would work with everyone in pursuit of the national 'good'.  Indeed, I commend Ms. Elisabeth Harper to all of our PPP/C supporters and to all Guyanese.

The PPP makes history again. It is taking ethnic unity and equality a step further to be the first party to include a woman in its top leadership positions.

I think she deserve that position good move give women more rights,Guyana need to divert all other countries both parties working,,,go Harper go,,i know Guyana will overcome this Venezuelan border issue,thought Ben would be a replacement but Harper was a good move Sam Hinds was there too long,i think 2 terms is good enough compliancey step inn give everyone a chance to lead.

I am a good judge of Character.......either the lady has always been a closeted PPP (her right) ,and therefore supports their corrupt modus operandi; or she's 'weak' and can be manipulated.
