Great victory for the NDP!
Now those blood sucking oil companies will finally have to share those billion dollar revenues with the people of Alberta.

The oil companies have gotten away with stealing billions from the people of Alberta under years of Conservative/Tory rule. But recently they have slashed and burn jobs and thrown the people under the bus without wanting to share any of their revenues.
Well, it's times like these that people all of a sudden find their inner socialist. But rest assured, after the NDP have redressed the injustice and the people are happy again they will go back to redneck conservative politics.

Not so sure . The Social Credit party ruled for decades from the 40ies to 1971. Peter Lockheed conservatives then took over and the party ruled until last night,
They seem to like dynastic politics in that province

A slump for those oil companies is making $50 billion this year instead of $100 billion they made last year.
What this election was about was how those oil companies have treated their workers and the way they have manipulated the oil industry using the Conservative party and their lackeys in government. The people are fed up. Those oil companies started a strategy of firing higher pay employees and replacing them with lower paid ones, lobbying for less environmental regulations (ie. fracking) and lower corporate taxes and a host of other concessions just so they can clear $50 billion more in profits.
This is pure greed. The people have had enough.

They are inheriting fixed books by those Conservative scoundrels.
The debt is probably way more than what the Tories were willing to admit. What the NDP should do immediately is hire an independent firm to do a proper and thorough audit of the Province's books so the people know exactly what the real numbers are.
