The selective coverage is all down to agenda. What is the mass media, which is in the pocket of the government, trying to push? They are SELLING us narratives, it isn't about reporting anymore.

I've seen YouTube comments far more nuanced than much of the "news" and "editorials" that come out about world events. The more I read, the more I question, the more I realize I just don't know. The sad news is that most people pride themselves on being "informed" because they frequent these media outlets, and don't bother to question what they're reading, and challenge what's been asserted, and do the legwork themselves to track down the facts.

...must be why they're trying to control the Internet...

Seriously. We have to be very cautious with what we say.

That said...Chin, hate begets hate. Don't you know what an eye for an eye accomplishes? One man will be left with one eye.

Now they gone to Mali. Who's next? Lets hope they don't come to an area near anyone here.

These folks have no respect for human lives. The funniest thing I see is that the guys are firing AK47's....kneels over in supplication (not sure what that accomplishes) and then resume fighting...without skipping a beat. Psychos??? You take a guess. See below the traits of psychos...perhaps we have a few closet ones here.

This is a very interesting topic, and one I've been thinking about today.

There's a YouTuber called David Pakman who asked the same question--why do SOME atrocities get covered, while others get buried? One interesting thing that he noted is that it might be due to access--it may be more difficult for some major news agencies to access certain geographical areas, or they simply may not have journalists at the ready in those areas because remaining would pose a danger and threat to reporters and other staff.

Another angle is thinking about the agendas of major outlets in general, be they under R. Murdoch's umbrella or others. Big Media is dying a major death, and the Internet and alternative media is increasingly becoming the place to go for more robust, factual, balanced and well-rounded reporting of events, and forums and comment sections and sites like Reddit can be a great source for getting the unfiltered views of people who may actually be closer to the events unfolding.

But it is interesting, isn't it? I think more people are rejecting mass media because in their own way everyone is beginning to see how full of crap it truly is.
