Michele Fiore says she wants to shoot Syrian refugees

Fresh from a Christmas card featuring heavily armed members of her family, Nevada Assembly member Michele Fiore said on her weekly radio program that she would like to shoot Syrian refugees personally.

On KWDN, Fiore discussed why she did not sign on to a statement from Republican member of the Assembly opposing the resettlement of Syrian refugees in Nevada.

"What, are you kidding me? I’m about to fly to Paris and shoot ‘em in the head myself,” Fiore said, adding, "I am not OK with Syrian refugees. I’m not OK with terrorists. I’m OK with putting them down, blacking them out, just put a piece of brass in their ocular cavity and end their miserable life. I'm good with that."

She did not sign the GOP statement, she said, because she was not asked.

Of the 784,000 refugees resettled in the United States since the 9/11 attacks, three have been arrested for activities related to terrorism, according to the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C., think tank. Among the nine Syrian refugees living in Nevada are the Alinas family, profiled here.

Republicans have raised concerns after French authorities discovered that one of the men who carried out the terrorist attacks in Paris carried a falsified passport that marked him as a Syrian refugee.

More than 4 million refugees have entered Europe since the beginning of the Syrian conflict.
