On Tuesday night, Priyanka visited SRK’s office in Mumbai’s Khar at about 11pm and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, especially by Bollywood standards — just like a good ‘ole catch-up session between two extremely busy and famous best friends.
Her chauffeur manoeuvered the white Mercedes into the narrow lane for his boss to make a discreet entry, which she did. But when she exited through the lift in the building at roughly 3.15am with SRK, our lens captured the best friends at their candid and unaware best.
Priyanka’s chauffeur and SRK’s security personnel, about six people in all, led by a heavy-set man, who has been accompanying him everywhere for the last six months, and not his old faithful, Yasin, went ballistic trying to look for the lens that dared to capture the two together. But all their attempts to destroy the pictures proved futile, as did their abuses and threats to physically assault the photographer.
A considerable amount of effort was made by their staff to avoid the two being photographed together, which was extremely odd, as SRK and Priyanka have posed and preened together a million times over and proclaimed their affection for each other. Raju Shelar/FirstpostSRK and Priyanka seemed to be engrossed in conversation as they made their way out to their respective cars, blissfully unaware of the goings-on among the staff. Even as Priyanka’s car sped away into the night, SRK’s staff were heard screaming, “Look for him! He must be here somewhere! Find him!â€
A considerable amount of effort was made by their staff to avoid the two being photographed together, which was extremely odd, as SRK and Priyanka have posed and preened together a million times over and proclaimed their affection for each other to anyone who’d lend an ear. SRK, who is not known to be overly affectionate with his heroines, both on and off screen, has broken his typical, social norm and kissed Priyanka on her cheek at an event back in October 2011.
So what’s all the fuss about? They’re friendly film stars, and we’re the press.
Except SRK and Priyanka do give the old “3am friend†line a whole new contemporary spin. And with all the drama surrounding their friendship, these pictures are only going to fan the rumour flames even further as people continue to speculate on Don and his Jungli Billi’s relationship status.
