In the begining  allah created  the heavens and the earth  and said let there be light and there was light.
Allah saw the light  and it was good and he divided it into light and darkness
He called the light day and the darkness night....Genisis  1 verse 1to 6
Now was allah thinking of costs? if he was we would have been in eternal darkness
