ene of the crime by coincidence.Persaud has told DemWaves that Le Blanc has been involved in organised crime in Canada based on information obtained from Canadian law enforcement counterparts.The collection of the oral statement came almost two weeks after Le Blanc was hospitalized for a gunshot wound to his buttock during the October 15 gunning down of Rodrigues at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMRSC), Albert Street, Georgetown.Contrary to police claims that investigators had been previously unable to obtain a statement from Le Blanc because he had been in and out of consciousness, DemWaves was reliably informed by hospital sources that the man had been fully conscious up to Thursday.Le Blanc’s sudden death came at a time when police detained Rodrigues’ chief of security who surrendered to police on Thursday in the company of a lawyer. It is the same day that police also issued a wanted bulletin for Mark De Abreu, saying they need to question him in connection with Rodrigues killing.Investigators have made it clear that De Abreu was not the shooter but they believe that he might have had some knowledge.Police sources say Rodrigues death, linked to a soured huge cocaine deal, occurred in the rare and unusual absence of the chief of security.Guyanese police had planned to return Le Blanc’s CDN$1,000 and Canadian passport so that he could have left the South American country for his homeland to receive specialized treatment for the gunshot injury.Le Blanc had expressed concern about the apparent tardy interest that the Canadian High Commission (CHC) had paid to him.
