A friend of mine swears on his mother's grave that the comedian Mehmood was born in Guyana and his parents remigrated to India at the end of their indentureship.  He was about 5 years old.  Anyone heard about that?

NO absolutely not. Mehmood's father (Muntaz Alli) was born and bred in Uttar Pradesh then he Muntaz moved to Bombay and started out in films in the late 40s early 50s. Mehmood was born in Bombay, India.
