ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A New Mexico woman and her boyfriend locked up an 8-year-old girl with developmental disabilities in a wooden cage, then left her alone while they headed out to watch a movie, police said Tuesday.
[/size]Cindy Patriarchias and Edmond Gonzales took her three children to an elementary school Friday to watch the movie, a police report said. Patriarchias' estranged husband called police when he arrived at the school and learned that the 8-year-old girl was unattended at the mobile home.
[/size]Police waited for an hour for Patriarchias and Gonzales to return before they could enter. Officers discovered a large homemade wooden cage in the corner of a bedroom with the girl inside. The cage had two latches on the door, a baby crib's mattress inside and was about 2 1/2 feet wide and 4 feet tall, police said in a statement.
[/size]The girl didn't appear to have any physical injuries, police said. She was placed under the care of New Mexico's child-protection agency.

Las Cruces, NM – A woman and her boyfriend were arrested after police found an 8-year-old developmentally disabled girl was found locked in a cage in the couple’s home, [color=rgb(0, 91, 127)] The Las Cruces Sun-News [/color] is reporting.
On Monday, officers in Las Cruces, New Mexico checking on the girl’s welfare found her in the cage the size of a crib, and that she was left in it while the rest of the family went to a movie.
Authorities say 33-year-old Cindy Patriarchias of Las Cruces and 37-year-old Edmond Gonzales remained in custody Tuesday after being arrested Friday evening.
Patriarchias is charged with negligently causing child abuse, and Gonzales with negligently permitting child abuse. Court records indicate they appeared in court Monday but haven’t yet entered pleas. Read more at the [color=rgb(0, 91, 127)] The Las Cruces Sun-News [/color].
On January 11, 2013, the father of Christian Choate was sentenced to 80 years in prison after keeping his son in a dog cage. Riley Choate kept Christian in a cage, in a mobile home, and both starved and beat him to death.  Christian died at 13-years-old.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
