According to the article, the group has confessed to committing the heinous act. Apparently, the attackers were young farmers in their 20's. The author says: "a woman is raped every 20 minutes in India, according to the nation's National Crime Records Bureau but many attacks go unreported because of the stigma attached to rape victims". The victim was brave enough to report it.
