Unionized LCBO workers have voted overwhelmingly in favour of striking if contract negotiations break down.
The contract for 7,000 workers expired at the end of last month.
Employees are angry over a proposed wage freeze and are demanding better job security.
Ontario Public Service Workers Union spokesman Greg Hamara says there are no plans to walk off the job and that customers shouldn't worry about going dry.
"There’s no effect on customers in the short or medium term and we just have to see where our negoations are going. It is not our intention to strike, we do not bargain to strike.â€
Workers voted 95 per cent in favour of a strike on Tuesday night.
CBC provincial affairs reporter Mike Crawley points out via Twitter that those who love their liquor don't need to start stocking up:
Bargaining resumes Wednesday.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

there's a wage freeze for all ontario govt employees....including the teachers.
why should the peeps working in the ontario liquor store be any different.
be interesting to see if they will be legislated back to work.

Weren't the LCBO workers on strike last year? I think last year they voted to be in favour of strike. I agree with the other poster. Why should they get a raise when everyone else's salary is frozen too?

Say it aint so , not the LCBO , They should make this an essential service and remove their right to strike . I remember the last strike and the trauma and withdrawal symptoms inflicted on the Ontario residents.
Hospitals and police can go on strike but please not the LCBO
