look at how insane the head coaching equation actually is!

west indies brought in Bennett King at 1 million us dollars per year, plus all kinds of perks.  to put that is perspective wicb got a sponsorship from Digicell for some 4-5 millions per yea..of which more than 1 quarter went to 1 functionary..the head coach

now what on earth could hat functionary give back that could possibly be worth a million per annum"

nothing.  he cant give back anything of commensurate value.  it was a waste of time, a waste of money..valuable resources in a financially strapped west indies.  it was insane.

Bennett got more in salary and perks as far as I understand, than the entire wicb staff at Factory Road and elsewhere who were paid in EC..while King got USD.  king alone got more money that the entire west indies cricket team for what... about 5 years of pay.

you see what I am saying Mail.  there is no possible value in a head coach for the west indies..especially one such as Bennett King.  he came and he went and nothing changed for the better.  Dyson came and I believe at lesser salary but still in the stratosphere and things got worse for the west indies.  now we have Gibson and the bottom has fallen out.

Gibson costs 300k per annum..no doubt USD.  and what is west indies getting for it?

where the hell is Rev when you need him?

Rev can you calculate what west indies got in return for the millions  we spent on head coaches since we hired Bennett King as head coach at a mil per?

I don't think allyuh see how deeply insane this head coaching business is..how out of whack it is..not in sync with anything that makes sense at all

Carberry is at least tuff and hard, not scared by anything the Oz or anyone can throw at him .  yet what he has done this series I suspect is the best he can do

I like Carberry, but I think he's been totally out of sorts this series. Don't know if it's the Ashes pressure. Either way, I think England are better off with opening Root anyway. Keep the rest as it is. Ballance should be given an extended run. He's quality, and long term prospect for sure.

He looks comfortable at the crease, withstanding the pace and the pressure of opening and reaches the apparent safety of the twenties and looks set for an innings of substance.

Then the runs dry up. He moves into the entrenchment stage, digging a hole from which he is reluctant to emerge.  His problem is he is such a rigid player. He is taut with determination and application. This is admirable and ensures he is a hard batsman to dig out, but an easy one to contain. He hits the ball only in certain areas: through mid-on, and behind square on both sides, usually with some force. Once those scoring areas are cut off or denied, he is stuck.  What he needs is flexibility.

Carberry is 33. He has been around the block a few times albeit a late entrant into Test Cricket. He knows all this. But it is another thing changing your method. Perhaps he is destined, like Mark Ramprakash was, to be a richly talented player who never quite delivers the goods. Older dogs rarely learn new tricks.

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.(13.10.2025, 09:28)(09:28)0

WarrenJameis Winston is asked about being named QB3 on the Giants' roster behind Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart:

"As a competitor, you want to be the starter. But I prepare to be the starter, I know I'm a starter in this league.

But you have to be able to be grateful for your role...my role right now is to assist Russ and Jaxson to be the best that they can be while preparing to be the best that I can be.

No matter if I'm 3, 33, this is my first year being number 19, so it's always a first for everything.

I focus on what I would love. And what I would love is for this team to have success."
