I have to disagree with you here.  The major inconsistency in Deo's career has been his selection!  Do you recall during the OZ tour he was the only batsman who showed some determination and was among the top scorers.  He was dropped the very NEXT tour!! 

It is true, that he has made most of the opportunity he has been given.  And I have been one of the first ones to say that.  However, compared to others he has not been given a fair run!

However, given the manner and lack of consistency how he was selected over the last 10 years, I really sympathized with him.  Its as if they (selectors, including OPISS) have been playing a mental game with the guy.  He would play 2 games then get dropped, then called up for 1 game because Samuels was not available, etc etc.

Deo can take another flight to SA. No need to fly there with the rest of the team.

Yeah : Cottrel may be flying out solo : after round 3...

Noted and I did point it the selectors issue.

I do recall his batting on that Aussie tour where I felt he looked the business in difficult conditions.

However he has not really taken his opportunites by the throat, has he?

Following that Australia series he has been given a chance and in 2013 he had 4 games and averaged 17!

You cannot blame the selectors for that!

He just has to continue doing what he is doing and see what happens!
