T20 has messed our cricket up - Lloyd

Clive is spot on, I've been saying this for years now. T20 aka mindless cricket dilutes the skillset necessary to be a good test player

Teams like Aus and SA are able to maintain their prowess in tests due to the fact they can field almost two separate teams whereas WI can't since they don't have that talent pool from which to draw from

Only in the Caribbean do we have folks determining what is "good money" for the players.

Does Cameron get paid good money for what he does? Does Lloyd? Or are they paid too much?

I have no problem with any cricketer taking money that is on offer from any T20 league over the WICB shyte.

Didn't Lloyd and a whole team take money from Packer and "abandon" the West Indies.

The WI players get nothing even remotely close to what dem Aussies, English etc make.

And didn't the WI pack the stadiums back in the day? The product stinks so he expect folks pay good money to see shyte.

And let's not forget Lloyd drop Bravo and say dem looking a young man for ODI captain.

Simple solution - mek Cameron, Pybus, Lloyd and Co say dem not giving a NOC to any player to go play T20.

That should solve the problem!!

Lloyd is wrong.

West Indies cricket was messed up a full 15 years before the popularity of T20.

T20 and leagues like the IPL are making mediocre West Indies batsmen and bowlers MUCH BETTER than they would ordinarily be were they stuck within our own domestic system.

When AUS played WI last ... all the chat was that AUS was rebuilding the team and so were WI to whatever extent.

Well AUS rebuilt pretty fast to come back up .... but after two decades WI still struggling !!!

I disagree to a large extent!

Kallis, deVilliers et al bat properly in T20s and are successful as tehy have honed their skills and techniques.

Where Lloyd may be correct is where techniqueless youngsters are baptised in that format.

However, that said, many Indian youngsters have had exposure to this format in the IPL and they have managed to make the transition!
