At the same time, Ketchim only does what he does because he loves how you and Mail react. I can post a dozen quasi-racist anti-Guyanese/Indian pictures on this thread, and Ketchim won't care. He just loves seeing Trinidadians riled up. Not Afro-West Indians, or Africans, but Trinidadians. Ketchim is the Guyanese Loki, and Trinis are his orgasmic playthings.

Well, we had this dicussion before the World Cup, and you, Mail and I, and most other posters, were in agreement that the WICB handled the India walkout incorrectly. We agreed with Pybus' new payment structure, but disagreed with the WICB not waiting to implement it on the South Africa tour instead, after all problems with the team had been ironed out.

We also disagreed with the firing of Bravo and Pollard prior to the World Cup (and the continuous selection of Smith). We had no problem with the eventual firing of Bravo and Pollard based on performance, but thought that it would have been more sensible to have still taken them to the World Cup; at least preserve the option of playing them, especially since their replacements were no better.

We also criticised the contradictory rationalisations Lloyd used to justify his team selection.


But Bravo and Pollard should only be defended up to a point. They're still basically a Show Pony and a Duck Farmer. I think they're wasted talents, but mostly because the coaches groomed them incorrectly. I think Pollard should have been groomed as a Dhoniesque test finisher and Bravo as a test opener or number 4 (he averages 50 in tests batting 1 to 5). These kinds of responsibilities build character quickly or show you up as a hack. Instead, Bravo was turned into an all-rounder and Pollard into a no-technique cowlasher.
