Test cricket. Lovely Test cricket is finally here.
Sri Lanka win the toss and elect to bowl first. With the overcast sky and iffy looking weather, this will be a big test for England this morning. Cook takes the spotlight needing 36 more runs to join the elite 10,000 run club.
Come on, England. Start as you mean to go on.

Cook won't get to 10,000 runs today as he is out for 16. An uncharacteristic loose shot from the skipper.
A slow and circumspect start so far for England. Hales looked very nervy and tentative early on but has settled down. 49/1.

What a spell from Shanaka. Root also goes for a duck. Brilliant bowling. He may only be medium pace but he has pitched the ball up and made use of the movement.

Vince gone for 9, driving at a full length delivery - much in the same way as Cook and Root. Sri Lanka dominating the last 90 minutes as they finally found the right length to bowl. 70/4.

This hilarious and beautiful scorecard is why we love test cricket.
We have the underdog Sri Lankans knocking off some quality batsmen, we have Hales digging in and making a stand like a lone warrior, we have Ben Stokes smoking 3 sixes then getting caught by captain Mathews...
But the funny thing is, you still can't predict how this match will turn out. England might slowly pile on a respectable total and Sri Lanka may suffer their own collapse.
