The Shruti is the revelation as opposed to the Smriti, learned or from practice.
There is no gold standard but there is the truth and we can decide that for ourselves and, as humans, we need to respect people's rights to practice accordingly.

Oh yeah, well not sure about it's an "English vs Saffie" thing, but I agree regarding Dirtbag especially. It's nuts to let him continue. He bowls unadulterated garbage and hit me balls. If he plays in T20 WC, I'll ROFL and die.
Lumb is a handy T20 player though, as in he could do fine as an opener with Hales.
