The ICC Under-19 World Cup starts tomorrow. I thought we could use this as a catch-all thread to discuss the tournament.

England and West Indies have been drawn in Group C together with Zimbabwe and Fiji.

Fixtures for the group stages are below:

The first two matches have been played and we already have our first upset. Despite a century from Liam Smith, holders South Africa lost to hosts Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, England plundered 371/3 from their 50 overs against Fiji, and then rattled them out for 72 for a convincing 299 run win. Saqib Mahmood finished with figures of 3/2 from 5 overs - a handy days work.

Apparently, no relation to Vernon.

It is always interesting to look back at the previous Under-19 World Cup's and see which players have progressed through to the senior levels.

The 2010 Under-19 World Cup was littered with future stars such as Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, James Vince, Josh Hazlewood, Mitch Marsh, Corey Anderson, Tom Latham, Doug Bracewell, Babar Azam, Jermaine Blackwood, Kraigg Brathwaite and Jason Holder.

Another day, another upset. This time Nepal hands New Zealand a surprise loss. Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka all won their respective matches.
