Preparing for golden years

With the world economy more unreliable than it has ever been, how are people here, including the younger generations, preparing for their golden years and retirement? On a scale of 1-10, how important is this as a priority for you?

I just see my daughter saying something similar to the boys

she is always saying to the older one....'i didn't get away doing that'!!

as grandparents.....we are rale softies, no ifs, ands or buts about it!! Cool

i am now thinking about what retirement i will have since most workplaces these days dont have a good retirement plan or none at all.

i will soon be putting those things in place...as soon as i come back from india.

it is a serious topic and as Nargis said.....one that young people needs to think about as the defined pension is a thing of the past

any pension plan now is defined contributions.....meaning that you have to play a very big role in saving for your retirement.

even the gov't is tightening the belt......old age pension at 67 instead of 65!!
