Tamil shot dead in Scarborough

A man is dead after a shooting at 17 Mantis Road near Morningside Ave. and Finch Ave. E.

                   

Surenthira Vaithilingam, 37, was killed while doing landscaping in backyard :

in what police are calling a “targeted shooting.”

Three men are wanted in connection with the shooting.

Police describe the first man as black, between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6, with a dark complexion, a ponytail and a Jamaican accent.
He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

The second man is black, 5-foot-4, with a dark complexion and also last seen wearing dark clothing.

The third suspect, who police believe was the driver of the getaway vehicle, is described as  brown-skinned, with a light complexion
and straight hair. Police say he was last seen wearing dark clothes with dark slacks.

“It’s very terrible, it’s scary to us,” said one neighbour,:

who comes from the same northern-Sri Lankan village that Vaithilingam was from.
