NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A man allegedly climbed over a security fence on the observation deck on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building and attempted to jump from the building.

The New York Post reported that the man didn't drop far.  He apparently landed just one floor below.

The man reportedly only suffered a broken ankle in the fall.  He was seen being taken away on a stretcher with a neck brace on and handcuffs on his wrists.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Bellevue Hospital.  He was charged with trespassing, according to the report.

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

In a TV show a few months ago, someone once asked this question: If you were to jump off the Empire State Building how long would it take to hit the ground?


A scientist answered that it will take 8.81 seconds.


Don't know whether it is accurate or not.
