McDonalds Corp. reported global same store sales climbed 2.6 percent in May but fell short of Wall Street expectations. Sales increased 3.6 percent in the month, or 5.2 percent, adjusted for currency fluctuation.
Analysts polled by Thompson Reuters I/B/E/S had been expecting a 3.65 percent increase for McDonald’s global business.
The Oak Brook-based burger giant reported gains in all regions of the world, including a 2.4 percent gain in the U.S., a 2 percent gain in Europe and a 0.9 percent increase in the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa region. Both international division have declined in recent months.
But the gains fell short of expectations in each region. Analysts had been looking for 2.69 percent gains in the U.S. and Europe, and a 7.3 percent gain in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
