Pakistani Actress Burned With Acid

Will this finally generate public outrage over acid attacks? An 18-year-old Pakistani actress was sleeping when a man climbed a wall, entered the family home, and threw acid on her on Saturday. Bushra Waiz is now in critical condition. Known also as Shazia Aziz, she’s a Pashto-language singer who does television theater as well. Thirty-three percent of Waiz—the right side of her face and body—are severely burned. The attack happened just north of Islamabad, and a complaint has been lodged against a local TV producer who was “unhappy” Bushra refused to marry him.
