Ramadan crab hunters : Karachi

Every morning 13-year-old Rafiq and 11-year-old Hussain set off in make-shift boats from Karachi:

s historical fishermen settlement of Rehri Goth and head for nearby mangrove forests.

While the area's grown-up fishermen hope to catch ever-dwindling supplies of fish, the boys - and others like them -

are after crabs which they can sell in local markets :

to bring home some much-needed income.

Is Crab Halal ?  :-\

I am still confused on this one....halal or not halal?

we never ever ate it in Guyana.....and I still have never eaten it!
i always assumed that all GY Muslims did not eat it.....but over the years i have found out that's not true.

all of the Trini Muslims eat it.

My parents never prepared it ...ever !

I tried tasting and eating  way after I came to Toronto....

Don't know but I do know that Guyanese are like crabs in a barrel

Muslims are not allowed to eat shell fish or unscaled fish . They are only allowed to eat fish with fins and scales , it says so in the Hadith

However they can convert the shellfish and unscaled  fish into finned and scaled fish in a similar way that they convert a hindu into a muslim
