Suicide Attack Targets Indian Consulate in Afghanistan

Suicide car bombers have attacked the Indian consulate in Afghanistan's eastern city of Jalalabad, killing at least nine people, including children.

Officials say many of the casualties were in a mosque adjacent to the consulate. More than 20 people were wounded.

New Delhi strongly condemned the attack, saying it highlighted that "the main threat to Afghanistan's security and stability stems from terrorism." India's external affairs office says all Indian officials are safe.

The Taliban denied responsibility for the blast. Afghan authorities say all three attackers died.
