Missing Burlington senior found safe

A missing Burlington senior who failed to show to up at a family barbecue Tuesday has been found safe.

Michael Bendik, 81, who suffers from early signs of dementia, was found lying in the tall grass of a field not far from his home Wednesday morning.

"It was warm enough for him to be out," said Halton police spokesperson Sgt. Dave Christopher. "He was in fairly close proximity from where he was supposed to be."

Bendik was taken to an area hospital as a precaution. His wife and children excitedly hugged one another as he was loaded into an ambulance.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
