He's been hailed in the press as some kind of good-looking guru :
a monetary James Bond who's put the "sex" back into the Sensex, India's stock market.....

Raghuram Rajan, has been greeted as India's latest rock star or super hero,
the big question is does he have a plan to rejuvenate the country's economy,
which is caught between rising prices, a volatile currency and sagging growth....

He raised concerns about highly complex financial products such as credit default swaps -
an insurance against bond defaults -
warning that if these ran into trouble the whole banking system could be at risk.

that toxic waste is going to implode the capitalist economy. deh shud write them off..kill the market in them...write off government debt..or write them down
there will be no change until they write down and write off. but they cant do that and save their economy so thy keep the bubble going by keeping the unredeemable, dead CDs alive, by book entry as assets.
there is no answer the capitalist way. what happens if they write off that debt? how would that affect overall values in the economy, all that is denominated on the stock market. the toxic paper is now a quadrillion plus worldwide and growing at interest. the market would crash. but the market is going to crash anyway if they keep up the debt. there is no liquidity from the concentration of cash in few hands... no growth only austerity and economic lock down seeking to squeeze interest payments out of declining operating costs.
the way I see the new finance laws now is that the big banks will use smaller banks to play in that toxic market, drive them bankrupt and seize all their assets including depositor funds. one way to attack the toxic financial content I guess..but certainly a way to legally loot everyone foolish enough to continue keeping assets on deposit at banks. that's a looming but temporary profit source and a negative on the market.
they have no answers..only war, massive destruction and loss of life and rebuilding..again at debt. and opportunity to hide from peoples the bankruptcy of nations and their total ownership by the big banks.
by 2050 people wont know that their nations are enslaved by debt like CDs accrued in 2008 onwards for which they are paying...just like americans now don't know they have been paying interest charges on debt all the way from the first world, war, the second world war and so on

He took the easy way out and predictably raised the central bank rate by half a point :-[
