THE Central Committee of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) met on Saturday at Enmore, East Coast of Demerara and the meeting ended on a high note of optimism for a stronger and unified party. This is the first time in the party’s history that a Central Committee meeting was held outside of Georgetown, a release from the party said.
It noted that immediately after the conclusion of the meeting, Central Committee
members broke up into groups and went on house-to-house visits in Enmore and the adjoining villages with a view to obtaining first-hand information on issues and concerns faced by residents in the various communities.

The Central Committee also discussed plans to observe the 21st anniversary since the restoration of democratic rule in Guyana and the ascension of the PPP/C to the seat of government. Several activities are planned throughout the country, including three big rallies in Essequibo, Demerara and Berbice.
