BlackBerry Ltd. BBRY +1.28% saw its shares rise more than 1% to $8.21 on Thursday afternoon following a report in the Wall Street Journal that Chinese PC maker Lenovo is considering making a bid for the troubled smartphone maker. The report, based on unnamed sources, said Lenovo has signed a non-disclosure agreement so it can go over BlackBerry's books in preparation for a possible bid. BlackBerry is already under a pending buyout deal with Fairfax Financial for $9 per share, though that deal effectively allows the company to shop itself around for a better price.
