The governor of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) John de Jongh says his administration has drafted legislation that will allow visitors from the English-speaking Caribbean to enter that country without a US visa.

This comes as part of the Government’s plans to encourage more CARICOM nationals to visit the USVI.
de Jongh says the proposal has received support in the US House of Representatives, the Senate and the Department of Homeland Security, but notes that there is no timetable for its implementation.
The governor was speaking in Martinique today after meeting with regional tourism officials on the final day of the 2013 Caribbean Tourism Organization’s State of the Industry Conference.
He says the US Virgin Island wants an opportunity to share in the movement of Caribbean nationals throughout the region.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

well I expect 2 things......
that the american congress wont allow dat to take place..and 2..that they wont letgo of the USVI.
so its dead in the water. we will hear nutten of it from now on unless the people of the USVI do something about it. I mean the man the customs.
they can let who the want in or out. and they can increase the business they do with the region..make the ties regional rather than north to south. the more that happens american ties decrease.
is like western new york on ontario. there is growing ties between this area that makes it a region of its own in spite of the border

There is a general realisation in the States that things in the Caricom countries are OK and there is no desire for these Nationals to want to be illegals like the Mexicans .
