Karzai: I Don’t Trust the U.S.
Feeling’s mutual, pal. On Thursday, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told tribal leaders that he did not trust the United States, just hours after Secretary of State John Kerry said a deal was in place on residual troop levels. "My trust with America is not good," Karzai said at a meeting of tribal elders and political leaders in Kabul. "I don't trust them and they don't trust me. During the past 10 years, I have fought with them and they have made propaganda against me." Karzai will have trouble persuading the Loya Jirga, Afghanistan's council of tribal elders and political leaders, to agree to the pact, which would extend until at least 2024. The proposal needs to be approved by both the U.S. and Afghanistan and would commit the U.S. to training Afghan security forces and armed American outposts in the country
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
