Eli Manning is not motivated. this is the second straight year of Manning's football death.
Manning has won everything twice. has supped full, his table overflowing. he is jaded now and cant get up for football like he used to.
Manning's drive may come back but who knows if and when. can the Giants wait for him?
I wouldn't!
Were I jerry Reese I would clan house the end of this season. indeed would have been working on such a change all last year and I would be ready to go now. I would thank Coughlin for his years of great service and move on. I would be looking for another franchise QB in the draft and already have him targeted.
if Eli wants to continue of course he would be welcomed to camp and given every opportunity to compete for the starting job. but he would be warned that its open and he had no lock on the job
also if Eli wants to be traded he should be facilitated and draft picks taken in return.
the Giants do not need much rebuilding. the team has a lot of very good players. they need a few roster tweaks.. and crucially a new Quarterback andnew coach
