AP Photo Finds Missing Man
An Associated Press photo that ran in a spread of people on the streets amid the freezing temperatures helped an upstate New York family find a missing man. Nicholas A. Simmons, 20, was last seen on New Year’s Day, and there were no leads until a photo of a man who looked like him was published in Rochester's Democrat and Chronicle, part of the Gannett newspaper chain. The caption identified the man only as “Nick.†AP photographer Jacquelyn Martin said she had asked Simmons for his personal information because “it could help him connect with his family,†but Simmons declined. The next day, Martin received a message via Twitter from USA Today reporter Natalie DiBlasio, who had used the photo with story on the freezing temperatures and had heard from Simmons’s sister.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
