A 10-year-old girl is being called a hero after jumping into a lake to save her 72-year-old grandfather from drowning.
Cara Jumper of Swansea, South Carolina was with at a fishing hole with grandfather when he suddenly had a stroke and fell into the deep lake. Immediately, the young girl jumped into the water to save him. She says that she was able to pull him onto dry land, but his cell phone had sunk to the bottom of the water and she was unable to call anybody. So, she assisted him in getting to his vehicle, which itself was a quarter mile walk, and then the 10-year-old drove him three miles to their family home.
“He’s leaning on me, and I’m basically carrying him. I think it was the hardest thing that I’ve ever done,†said Jumper of carrying her grandfather to the vehicle.
"It's just one of those things that's hard to believe, but it happened you know?" said the grandfather Coy Jumper. "I'm just glad she was here, that's the main thing."
Coy reportedly spent six days in the hospital recovering from the incident, and his wife Esca says the entire family is grateful for Cara’s heroic actions.
"We're just thankful everything worked out like it did, and Cara's adrenaline kicked in and she knew what to do," said Esca.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Super grandchild to the rescue, hope mine are as heroic if, and when, I have any of my own.
