U.S. Says Plane Flew On for Hours
On Thursday, the Malaysian government rejected a report in The Wall Street Journal that U.S. investigators believe Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was in the air for four hours after its last confirmed location. The report had cited flight data from the plane’s engines that are automatically transmitted. “These reports are inaccurate. The last transmission was at 01:07, which indicated that everything was normal,†Malaysia’s acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein told a news conference. The CEO of Malaysia Airlines also said that Rolls-Royce and Boeing “did not receive any further transmissions after the last transmission at 01:07.†In addition, while reports had surfaced of satellite images showing three large objects in the waters south of Vietnam, Malaysia’s civil aviation chief told the press, “There is nothing. We went there, there is nothing.â€
