One-of-a-kind treasure for a philatelist :
Selling price: $12,000,000
Stamp collectors dream about encountering a treasure such as the “one cent magenta,â€
an1856 stamp from
the country now called Guyana.
Set for auction in the US in June, 2014, it’s expected to be the most expensive stamp
ever sold and the most expensive object based on weight, say collectors.
The octagon seal was one of three stamps printed by a Georgetown publisher
when a shipment to the former British colony didn’t arrive.
The one-cent stamp was used to deliver newspapers around the South American country.

I had that Guyana 25c....reproduction of the One Penny Magenta...
we used to call it The black magenta :
not realising it was one color on top of the other ...
ma·gen·ta
məˈjentə/....noun
1.
a light purplish red that is one of the primary subtractive colors.....
