“It’s one of the largest to ever land in Guyana,†says Airline’s General Manager
As the airline experiences growth, Travel Span has added a new aircraft to its fleet. Aircraft 767-300 will now be a back up for Travel Span’s other plane 767-200.
Members of the media were given a tour of the aircraft 767-300 on Saturday just before the second flight since the plane’s maiden flight out of Guyana.

The airline’s General Manager, Vanita Jagnarine, told the press that because there is a growing number of passengers, Travel Span and its partner, Vision Airlines, noticed the need for another aircraft. She said, however, that the present customer demand is not the sole reason for the additional aircraft as the airline is seeking further expansion and is looking to offer flights to a wider range of jurisdictions.
The 10-year-old aircraft has seating capacity for 221 passengers—191 economy seats and 30 first class. Each passenger’s seat is equipped with a television. Seats in the first class area have larger televisions and the leg space is vast. The seats are so designed that passengers have the option to recline or to transform the seat into a bed.
The 200-foot long aircraft, which Jagnarine pointed out to be among the largest to have ever landed in Guyana, can fly 10 hours nonstop at a speed of 900 nautical miles per hour.
David Goberdhan, Station/Operations Manager, didn’t hesitate to promote the “heavy†safety and security measures taken by Travel Span to ensure passengers are protected. However, he declined to divulge certain security measures that will be taken.
And in focusing on safety, the manager said that Travel Span ensures that an aeronautical engineer is always onboard. The engineer assigned to aircraft 767-300 is Allan Drozd.
