Following a Council meeting on Tuesday last, Ramesh Persaud was appointed the new Chairman of the Private Sector
Commission. Persaud, who served as Vice Chairman, took over the reins of the sector after the unfortunate passing of Ronald Webster on April 27.
Persaud is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED). He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts and holds an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watts University, Scotland.
Mr. Persaud is also the current Chairman of the Caribbean Micro Finance Alliance (CMFA), a regional network of Micro Finance Institutions and Credit Unions which spans nine Caribbean countries.
