A former member of the United States (US) military was badly beaten by police at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) after she behaved violently and posed a flight risk, a usually reliable airport source said Sunday.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning at the check-in area e where she had been preparing to leave Guyana on the 5:30 am flight to Miami.
The source said the woman began pelting persons in the check-in area and was deemed a flight risk and was prevent from boarding the Caribbean Airlines flight. Additional police were called in and they used batons to subdue the woman on the airport tarmac before taking her away.
Police Commissioner, Seelall Persaud said he was checking on the reported incident.
The airport official, who confirmed that the incident occurred, said it raised serious concerns about the absence of qualified personnel to deal with person suspected of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. “It’s a mental health issue though she was a flight risk,†the official said.
Demerara Waves Online News was told that Caribbean Airlines was due to lodge reports with the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) , Ministry of Transport and the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

wow, that is unfortunate, but would anyone else deal with that situation any differently? Noone knew she was mentally ill, they obviously could not have read her mind, and she was a danger not only to the arresting officers but to the other members at the check in, she was pelting them.

and from the cutarse administered I guess that the service woman is absolutely black.
they would never beat a white woman like that. 2-3 men would subdue her like they could have done this one, put handcuffs on her and that would be that.
that service woman would have to be wonder woman to pose such a threat that a couple of policemen could not have handcuffed her. who the hell wants to beat the crap out of a woman!! any woman at all unless there is something like hate involved..race hate..coupled with the general law enforcement sadism of this current day
a probable egregious piece of Guyanese racist police sadism in all likelihood SeanM. no excuses will cut it if what is described did in fact happen and the victim is indeed a black woman
