‘Eating sensibly and working out’ – President Ramotar loses over 30 lbs

[www.inewsguyana.com] – President Donald Ramotar at a media conference this morning (Saturday, June 7) disclosed that sensible eating and persistent exercise is responsible for his evident weight loss.

iNews spoke with First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar earlier in the week, who disclosed that the Head of State is currently in the tenth week of a strict diet plan and has lost over 30 pounds (30lbs) already.

To this end, Ramotar noted the support he has been receiving from his wife. He said he had always tried to live a healthy life and keep fit; as he explained that he has been cutting back on the quantity of food recently.

“I have been eating a lot of steamed greens and cut out fatty foods even as I continue to work out and get help from the gym,” he said; adding that he is careful in ensuring he loses the weight and not the muscles.

Meanwhile, First Lady Ramotar clarified that her husband was not sick, while Ramotar told reporters that he also taught it was wise to lose the weight which would in turn help with an injury he suffered to his knee.

Madame First Lady spoke of the assistance she has been giving her husband by feeding him from her organic kitchen garden.

She said prior to starting his diet plan, President Ramotar had been exercising but was not seeing many results because his meals remained irregular. She said he is now eating his breakfast, mid-morning fruits, lunch and an afternoon salad, all on time and the results have been amazing.

President Ramotar seems very happy to have lost weight and has the congratulations and encouragement of the iNews team.

President Donald Ramotar is in his early sixties. That was a good deal of weight to lose. He lost about 15% of his whole body weight. Being able to do that lowers your blood sugar, cholesterol, and other bad things.

Well congrats to President Ramotar. As someone who struggled with their weight in the past, I can certainly sympathize. It is a hard journey - both physically and emotionally. I remember there were times when I use get on the scale and didn't see a change in my weight loss. That was always frustrating, but over time I learn to incorporate different workouts into my weekly routines as well as eating healthy. As one trainer told me, working out is only 20% of the result and eating healthy represents 80% towards your goal of a tone body. I wish Governor Chris Christie in New Jersey would follow President Ramotar lead. Politicians have so much responsibility and I know the job is beyond stressful. I think being overweight can add to the stress and cause serious consequences such as heart attack, strokes, and even deaths. In America we lost quite a few politicians and well known journalists due to health related issues.

From what I've heard through the grapevine, he retained the services of the physio team used by the Golden Jaguars football team.

I must say, they whipped into shape pretty quickly
