Halle Berry Has To Pay Gabriel Aubrey $16,000 Per Month In Child Support

The long-lived child support battle between Halle Berry and ex-lover, Gabriel Aubrey, appears to be over—for now at least. According to People, the Academy Award-winning actress has been ordered to pay Gabriel $16,000 per month in child support for their daughter, Nahla, until she either turns 19 years old or finishes high school. That’s a pretty long time considering that Nahla is only six.

Halle will also be required to cough up $115,000 in retroactive support. The shocking ruling was delivered in a Los Angeles court room on May 30. TMZ is reporting that Halle has also been ordered to pay Gabriel $300,000 in attorney’s fees. Court documents reveal that the two share equal custody of Nahla.

Halle and Gabriel’s co-parenting situation certainly has not been the most ideal over the past couple of years. As you may recall, the former couple’s 2012 Thanksgiving was stained with memories of bloodshed and a prison cell after Gabriel got into a physical altercation with Halle’s now-husband, Olivier Martinez.

Hopefully, all parties involved have learned how to effectively (and peacefully) work through their issues for Nahla’s sake.

Well, I am a little baffle by this story. I read it earlier today and I still don't understand why Halle has to pay child support. It seems to me Gabriel is monetarily stable and not destitute. I know of cases where women have to pay child support and all of those cases involve the father having full custody. So how is it in this situation where custody is shared that Halle has to pay child support? Sighs, then again the courts have their own laws. Not to mention we don't know what goes on behind these walls and who Gabriel's attorneys might know to swing this verdict in his favor. You never know.

Remember in the 1970's women wanted Equal Rights, well unfortunately that Halle Berry case is a remnant from that era.
She has a better paying position; so, she has to pay. He hardly worked when she met him.
