The Police say they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 1910h last night at No. 11 Village, Corentyne, during which Rohan Doodnauth, 55 years, and his wife Renawattie Doodnauth were attacked and robbed by three men, two of whom were armed with firearms.
Investigations, police say, have revealed that the three perpetrators entered the premises and held up Rohan Doodnauth and his wife along with an employee.
They demanded cash and valuables and some jewellery was handed over. The police said that not satisfied with the jewellery, the men made more demands and threatened the victims during which one of them discharged a round that struck one of his accomplices to the body.
The police said that neighbouring residents responded, forcing the men to flee and leaving the wounded man behind.
He has been identified as Avinash Rambazad called “Panditâ€, 20 years, of Adelphi Village, East Canje, Berbice, and he succumbed today while receiving medical treatment at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

You always make my day! ::LOL::
I don't feel sorry for him. He got what he deserved. They terrorized, and then tried to rob those frightened people.
Criminal brazenly run around thinking nobody will defend themselves.

This was a horrible situation for all those involve. I'm not going to dance on the young man's grave. I don't know the circumstances to make these men seek out innocent people for the sake of possibly doing harm to them. And the fact the gun was loaded tells me they probably would have shot this couple if their demands were not met. Could it be karma? I think so in such a sad way. This young man was together with 2 other people with the chance of ending someone else's life just to lose his needlessly. I'm glad other people came to the couple's assistance, but all in all it was a situation that should have never happened in the first place.
