On Monday, President Obama announced that his office is working on an executive order to protect federal employees from gender identity-based discrimination. Lesbian and gay federal employees are already protected from workplace discrimination, but the Obama administration is planning to expand those protections to transgendered individuals. While Obama already announced in June an executive order prohibiting federal contractors from LGBT discrimination, the new directive would specifically ban firing or refusing to hire someone based on their gender identity. Currently, only 18 of the 50 states have laws on the books banning LGBT employee discrimination, and an additional three have protections for just lesbian and gay employees.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

That's good he is planning on legislation to protect transgender individuals as well. I thought they were already included with the LGBT when laws are pass to protect them. I came across a very sad story last week of a transgender woman in Florida being burned to death in an apparent hate crime. In Texas a lesbian couple was killed by one of the girl's father who couldn't accept his daughter being gay. I am always amaze at the level of vitriol and extremes people will go to when it concerns someone else's life. I can't wrap my mind around ending another human being's life for what they do in their own lives. Crazy.

isn't Obama a beautiful president.  police are beating and killing ordinary people all over america. american police brutality is epidemic and all he is concerned about is the protection and advance of homosexual and transgender people
