Bowe Bergdahl, the American soldier and former captive who was freed in an exchange for five Taliban leaders, has ventured multiple times off an Army base in Texas in an effort to gradually readjust to normal life. Bergdahl has been carefully monitored at a military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, and his home since being freed and has recently transitioned to outpatient care. While venturing into the public, Bergdahl has visited a library, a supermarket and several stores of his choosing, as well as several restaurants, according to an Army spokeswoman. Sometimes Bergdahl wears civilian clothing and other times he steps out in uniform. Some people have recognized him and come up to him to shake his hand. Bergdahl’s reintegration phase ends within the next few weeks, after which he will be assigned to an Army unit.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
