ESPN says it has suspended sportscaster Stephen A. Smith for a week because of comments about domestic abuse suggesting women should make sure they don't provoke attacks. Smith has apologized for the comments that were lade last Friday during an on air discussion about NFL running back Ray Rice's suspension for assaulting his fiancée. ESPN says Smith is off air until August 6th. ESPN says Smith's remarks do not reflect that of the network.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

steven a smith works for ESPN which is a right wing organization that requires its black presenters and 'experts' to compromise themselves as men..as black men.. and women. if they do not they are fired.
Stephen A smith, Jason Whitlock and Wilbon are the most successful of these presenters and 'experts' but they are the worst, most pandering Toms of that whole bunch.
it is necessary for ESPN to hire black presenters and 'expert's black people constitute the vast majority of players in sports so their voices in the media are necessary. accepting this most of the media then ensure that those voices are structured to present information the way the media owners want..not according to the black interest in sports
black people complain. I write that the owners of the media capital according to law are free to disburse that media as they see fit...that black people should start their own media support it to make it successful..and KEEP IT! NOT SELL IT OFF TO WHITE OWNERS THE MINUTE IT GETS SUCCESSFUL.
IN FACT THAT S WHAT THEY START IT UP TO DO WHEN WE DO START IT UP..TO SELL IT FOR HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS, OR A BILLION AND DANCE IN THE STREETS. MEANTIME WHITE PEOPLE CONTINUE OWNING EVERYTHING.
you want to comment get into the nuts and bolts and try make sense..see the sides and attitudes, where class and race plays and how..the historical development of the process, its dynamic and many-sided nature

ESPN is simply giving him a week off to let things cool down. I found Smith's remarks to be problematic because although he stated domestic violence was wrong, I still seen his explanation as a way of telling women to not do anything to provoke a man to hit them. Violence is wrong period. Stephen A. Smith said that in his commentary last week but at the same time, he was so clumsy in trying to explain his position and basically blame the victim. Anyway, this will all be blown under the table after a week. I wish ESPN took issue with Smith's comments when he rationally explained Mark Cuban's ignorant statement of comparing black kids in hoodies to Skinheads on the street.

The suspension of Steven A. Smith proves that you're not entitled to an opinion in this country. Shame on you, America.

yes they are, more than problematic..stupid.
but why be sooprised ::confused::
Steven A Smith is a buffoon, a fool who sooner or later gets overconfident and puts his foot in his mouth. bound to happen with such...a Tom playing a toms game..shucking and jiving for a buck when he does not have. he can get a decent job.

All violence is unacceptable. Smith should not have been suspended for expressing his opinion.He said that physical violence is wrong; however, words can provoke one to react with violence. He spoke the truth! If you provoke an angry violent man then you may get your butt kicked. Some people fight violently using a screeching voice, or malicious words. That is a form of violence. Someone else may react to that sort of verbal violence by slapping.
