As the world mourns the shocking loss of Robin Williams, details continue to emerge about the comedy icon’s recent struggles with money and addiction.
“All he could talk about were serious money troubles,†a family friend who recently spoke with Williams told Radar Online. “There were clearly other issues going on and Robin sounded distant during the telephone conversation.â€
Williams opened up about his money problems in a Parade magazine interview last year in which he mentioned how hard it was to deal with divorce.
“Divorce is expensive,†Williams said. “It’s ripping your heart through your wallet.â€
The Oscar-winner and stand-up comedian also talked about the first time he quit drugs, 30 years ago.
“The first time I stopped was because my son Zachary was about to be born,†he told Parade.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

robin williams was a pretentious pain in the arse whose work I never enjoyed. I never saw him in the same light as I saw George Carlin and Richard Pryor. those were 2 great artists without a shred of pretense, whose work was realistic, truthful and funny forever
Dead Poets society is what really turned me off of Williams...the way that kid killed himself unable to deal with the demands of his father to become what he did not want to be. that story always reminded me of Paul Simon of Simon and Garfunkle fame
a Jewish boy Simon was expected to follow a sensible academic path to become a doctor or something. when he quit school to follow his dream his parents were utterly dismayed till the day he showed them his first million dollars.
but the principle is clear..AND VERY AMERICAN! Simon walked regardless and did his own thing to the benefit of everyone. that is the american way..and the DP Society instead of girding that kid to do the same american thing..by poetry of which there is plenty supportive of striking out and creating ones own world..left the kid without alternative, unable to cope and suicidal
I can see that there is much to that movie..just a pretty. elitist shell to encase Williams for public viewing. I guess that the DP Society was adapted from some book written by someone. I never had the chance to look for that book to discover the meat to that story the movie might have left out. but the movie pissed me off from the start so by the end I was not paying much attention. and I never went back to it..will never do so.
later on I got a glimpse of a movie with Williams who played a creepy murderer out in the cold wilds of Alaska. that's the guy I thought...that's Williams ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL::
seriously though I did not see the whole movie just towards the end and I must admit that Williams was very good. I got caught up although I don't like dark subjects and movie presentation. it was a very dark show
Williams was not a stand out to me but a paper comedian, a middlin' sort of performer. I hated his pretension when I discovered it but the man was human and was became what he was I am sure. nothing wrong there. I dont see his sexuality as sinful..dangerous and eventually fatal, but his own way of life.
the financial interests around him will seek to build an enigmatic legend of lies that would facilitate great sales and profits of his work as time passes. but that is what financial interest always do with dead celebrities. at times the legend built is truthfu as the truth would helps sales if that is the decision. at times it is built of lies. they make the choices of trends or lines to follow that may result in the greatest profits
it is clear in the case of Williams they have decided that the suicide angle is best..at least to start with. an end and a beginning at the same time
