Barbados Nation) Where have all the students gone?
That is the big question officials at Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) are asking now that registration for continuing students has ended, and that for new students moves into the third day today.
With just five days to go before teaching gets under way, sources at UWI said fewer than 5 000 students had registered up to yesterday, a slump from the just over 9 000 registered last year.
It could not be ascertained how many of those registered were final-year students.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Maybe if Guyanese prospective students get a fair chance at admission, the rolls would be a lot higher. Guyanese students have this bad habit of being on honor rolls, and deans lists, and generally out-shining their Caribbean counterparts in most of the regional institutions of higher learning, that stumbling blocks get put in their way.
