Is Serena the Greatest?

I don't know if she's the greatest but she is veeeeery close to being the best of all time! I was so happy to watch her win the US Open and tied Martina and Chris for the 3rd most grand slams won of all time. It would be even cooler if she surpass their titles and win more grand slams. Sadly, here on American message boards the pure hate oozing for this woman is nothing short of ordinary. A black woman demonstrating such dominance rub a lot of people the wrong way. It doesn't matter that Serena is an American. They don't see her that way. All they see is her skin color.

Serena Williams has to be regarded as the best women's player of all time. Its less about the win loss record but its more to do with her individual performances during tournaments. The way she dominates world class players. The rest of the women on the circuit are by no means poor players, they just pale in comparison to greatness.

I think she is. She has been playing at such a high level at such a long time and on top of the tennis world. I know there will be no question when she wins her next major championship though.

Can't compare Serena to the older players. She is bigger, stronger and more athletic. Every subsequent generation is usually a little bigger and taller. Serena is very talented and continues to impress even winning Slams in her 30s.
